Joushqan city is located on the way of Esfahan to Kashan, in wide area of Varganeh that is a collection of small straw houses, based on the resources, weaving and rug production in this area related to Safaviyeh era. Actually most of exquisite pelonzi rugs that the king of Poland was ordered and lots of potted and garden rugs are attributed to this area too. Also among the rugs that ShahTahmasb Safavi presented to Soltan Mogul,Homayoun, as a gift, Joushqan rugs can be mentioned too. Most of the Safaviyeh rugs are retention in collections and museums currently, have signs of Joushqan masters that shows role of joushqan masters in texture of royal rugs.

The loom kind of the rugs used in Joushqan is like that allows the parts woven formerly to twist through the lower axis, thus the rug can be woven in every arbitrary sizes even in very large sizes. The knot is asymmetric with medium density 2000 to 3600 knot in each square of decimeter and warp is cotton and has two wefts that one of them is limp in cobalt-blue color. Piles have medium thickness and they are soft and shiny cause the use of Khorasan wool. The colors are almost opaque and background is mostly in brick red that is made by Ronas and dark blue made by indigo.

The pattern used is that developed old potted pattern. In older samples, flowering designs make a network and designs similar to Minakhani are seen among them too.by time passing a developed geometric pattern is also used in texture and network distribution is only used as keeping the diamond form like decorative elements. Traditional designs include a little bergamot in the center of background that has zigzag border and four triangle corners are seen in angles. Among the tiny patterns of background and next to the flowers with four petals, willow tree and some simplified trees are mostly seen and by that reason, local weavers named it jungle design.

The main margin, usually has blue or cream background that is formed by sequences of simplified flowering elements. Similar production but thicker is seen in some villages of Joushqan like Meymeh and Mourchekhourt.
