Boldaji

At the south east of Shalamzar, another important production center named Boldaji is located. This area rugs are almost thick and has woven on a warp by cotton yarn and with just a weft. The design has several parts and it’s so simple. For example the willow tree design used in these rugs is that much simplified that is look like a geometric pattern included rows of vertical column that has lost its resemblance with the main pattern.

Being geometric and simplicity of the pattern causing nicety and pleasantness of these rugs and on the other hand don’t have any especial value. Often texture is thick and colors are artificial and almost virulent.

Though Boldaji rugs are handmade and each one is unique, they are all helpful for warming up a cold flagstone terrace in the winter. The hand knotted fabric includes an intricate patchwork pattern of crimson and navy trees of life. The rug has an orange inner border with a repeating medallion pattern and a red thin outer border. It has a cropped fringe to each end, based on its measurements the rug was manufactured between 1887-1911.
