Another option for pink is to use beetroot, which creates a cooler shade of pink. The more dye a weaver uses, the more vibrant the coloration will be. Varying the type of plant and the concentration of the dye enables weavers to create a wide variety of beautiful pinks.
Age also affects what shade of pink a rug is. Antique rugs tend to fade over time, which means that a vibrant red rug may gradually dull from red to pink.
How many different shades of pink are there?

Formally, rug experts don’t know if there is even an answer to this question.
