These spectacular rugs are decorated with unique and ancient symbols of tiny flowers, birds and geometric animals. Most of the geometric patterns are tribal symbols which are associated with the Shahsavan tribe. Sumak rug is the type of flat woven pile or brocading.
IT is thicker than kilim rug and accomplished by looping the yarn horizontally around successive pairs of warps. The designs they feature are totally diverse from any other type of rugs. Sumak rugs have been practiced across the antique collections of the world producers including Central Asia, Iran, the Caucasus and Turkey too.
