Tip 2: Channel your inner artist.

Sometimes, a stencil and some fabric paints are all you need to transform an old, cheap rug into a fresh masterpiece. There are many possibilities here, and you can find endless tutorials on YouTube.

• Paint the current pattern, picture, or background a new color.
