Lambaran Rugs

Lambaran

Lambaran is a small town between mountains located in the north of Tabriz, between Marand and Ahar. Because of impassable mountains that encompass this town, a difficult path should be passed for achieving this town and go to the north point, Jolfa, a city with Armenian background and then to the south.

The rugs produced in Lambaran and near centers like Varzaqan, Yangi and Dastgherd, are look like a lot to Garadjeeh in terms of color and also design.

Most of the rugs are in small sizes or side rugs that are woven with a symmetric knot and low delicacy, with a partly thick string but brilliant and compressed. Therefor thick and resistance rugs have impressive designs that are look like to the designs related to Armenia and Caucasus. Most of these designs include vertical rows of bergamots with angled sections or in star shape that have brilliant colors and the red color has overcome the other colors.
